New Delhi/Srinagar: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the Chenab Rail Bridge in Jammu on Tuesday. The height of this 1.3 kilometer long bridge is 359 meters, due to which it is the highest railway bridge in the world. This bridge will connect Kashmir valley with the rest of the country.     1. This bridge is built on Chenab river. With a height of 359 meters, it is 35 meters taller than the Eiffel Tower located in the capital city of France, Paris.
    2. The length of Chenab Railway Bridge is 1.3 kilometers. It will form an important link in the 111 km long stretch from Katra to Banihal.
    3. This bridge, built in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir, has been built at a cost of Rs 1486 crore.
    4. The construction of this bridge started in the year 2002 under the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Line Project. The entire bridge was ready in August 2022.
    5. This bridge is a wonderful example of modern engineering. It is designed in such a way that it can withstand even winds with a speed of 266 km per hour.
    6. Chenab Rail Bridge has an arch shaped design which makes it special. The arch is made of steel and is the most important part of the bridge.
    7. A train will be able to pass through Chenab Rail Bridge at a speed of 100 kilometers per hour. Soon Vande Bharat Metro train will be started between Jammu and Srinagar.
    8. It is expected that after the inauguration of this bridge, the economic development of Jammu and Kashmir will also gain momentum. This will increase business here.
