The extra water collected will be taken out through this system. Due to this, the Government is working on a ‘Storm Water Charge and Water Service Charge’ consultation program to address storm water management in collaboration with water users and interested parties.

According to this, the more water that goes into the sewerage via people’s houses, the more tax will have to be paid. This is being called rain tax. To handle runoff, the Toronto administration can impose it on all properties in the city. There are many places including buildings, offices, restaurants etc.
