Himachal Politics : 6 Rebel MLAs Of Congress Joined BJP; Told-Why They Vote Harsh Mahajan In Rajya Sabha Elections?

Before the Lok Sabha elections, Congress has suffered a big setback in Himachal Pradesh. Six rebel MLAs of the party joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Saturday. Sudhir Sharma, Ravi Thakur, Rajendra Rana, Inder Dutt Lakhanpal, Devendra Bhutto and Chaitanya Sharma Took membership of the party in the presence of BJP state president Rajeev Bindal and Union Minister Anurag Thakur. Along with this, they also revealed the reason for voting for BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan in the Rajya Sabha elections.

A meeting of BJP MLAs was held under the chairmanship of Vipin Singh Parmar in Shimla on Friday. This includes Satpal Satti, Randhir Sharma, Hans Raj, Prakash Rana, Pawan Kajal, Surendra Shourie, Dilip Thakur, Deepraj, Ranveer Nikka, Vinod Kumar, Balveer Verma, Indersingh Gandhi, Reena Kashyap, Purna Chand, Janak Raj, Lokindra Kumar and BJP State. General Secretary Bihari Lal Sharma was present. Regarding this, MLA Randhir Sharma said that the strategy for the Lok Sabha elections was discussed in detail in the meeting. Apart from this, there was also discussion on welcoming independent MLAs who are leaving Congress.

After this, on Saturday all the rebel MLAs joined BJP. After taking membership of BJP, Sudhir Sharma’s thoughts also became public. He said that he and his colleagues have joined BJP of their own free will. Referring to the Rajya Sabha elections, Sudhir Sharma said, ‘We have not hidden our votes. We voted for Harsh Mahajan because he is from our district. We knew what the circumstances would be.
