Big Achievement: Torticollis Patient Operated At Pt. JLN Medical College Chamba For The First Time

Another achievement has been added to the name of Pandit Jawaharlal Naihar Medical College located in Chamba, Himachal Pradesh, which is providing excellent health services to the people. Yesterday, the team here performed a successful operation for torticollis for the first time. This operation has been done under the leadership of college principal Dr. SS Dogra, after which the victim teenager is recovering.

According to the information received, a few days ago a 12-year-old boy resident of Gram Panchayat Bhandal of Chamba district was brought here for Ilraj. He was suffering from torticollis disease since birth. In this disease, due to problems in the neck muscles, the child’s head turns and remains tilted to one side only. Although in most cases the patient does not feel pain, in some circumstances it can be quite painful.

Regarding this, Principal of Medical College, Dr. SS Dogra said that when the victim teenager was brought to the OPD of the hospital here, the team of doctors decided to operate on him after complete examination. His operation yesterday was successful. According to Dr. Dogra, it is a matter of great pride for the medical college, because such an operation has been done for the first time.

Dogra says that the doctors are working hard day and night to provide better health facilities to the patients in the college hospital. In this operation too, ENT specialist Dr. Vartika Sharma, doctors of anesthesia department, staff nurses and OTA have played an important role.
