Fire Safety Department Chamba Conducted Mock Drill At Bhuri Singh Museum To Deal With Earthquake Situation

Under the auspices of the District Disaster Management Authority, a mock drill based on earthquake was organized at Bhuri Singh Museum on Thursday to create awareness about the anniversary of Kangra earthquake of 1905 and relief and rescue operations during natural disasters like earthquake. During this period, SDM Chamba Arun Kumar Sharma was especially present.

SDM Arun Kumar Sharma encouraged everyone to ensure their participation in disaster management and said that the purpose of such events is to provide information about natural disasters and risks. He said that the most important way to deal with disasters is to be aware, get information and be careful. Earlier in the morning, earthquake mock drill was started.

After this, taking immediate action, all the stakeholder departments and disaster management teams started the process related to relief and rescue work under the leadership of SDM Chamba Arun Sharma in the staging area. People trapped in the museum after the earthquake were successfully rescued by the fire department staff. Also, after providing first aid, the health department employees sent the injured to Medical College Chamba through ambulance. After the mock drill, the doctor from the health department along with the fire brigade personnel gave various important information to the people.
