7 Chinese Hackers Convicted In US On Espionage; Reward Of 10 Million Dollars Announced
Washington : The Biden administration took action against Chinese hackers on Monday. Seven Chinese nationals have been convicted in US federal court in New York. Several Chinese hackers will be prosecuted for carrying out widespread hacks against US companies and government officials. The Ministry of External Affairs has announced a reward of up to $10 million for anyone providing information about all these seven people.
Officials said the campaign, launched by Chinese hackers in 2010, aimed to harass critics of the Chinese government and steal data from American corporations and spy on high-level political figures. Seven Chinese nationals have been convicted in US federal court in New York. All of them have been accused of hacking for years.

The indictment states that American democratic institutions have been targeted by these hackers. The US Treasury Department announced sanctions against the two men, saying the hackers had targeted some of America’s most critical infrastructure sectors. At the same time, the Ministry of External Affairs has announced a reward of up to 10 million dollars for anyone providing information about all these seven people.
