Diamonds And Gold Worth More Than 6 Crores Found In Noodles, 4 Passengers Arrested Before Flying To Bangkok

Mumbai : The Customs Department has recovered valuables worth Rs 6.46 crore at Mumbai Airport. It contains diamonds and gold. The big thing is that the passengers had hidden the gold in diamond noodles packets in their private parts apart from their luggage. In a release, the department said that during the weekend, 6.815 kg gold worth Rs 4.44 crore and diamonds worth Rs 2.02 crore were seized from four passengers and they were also arrested.

Diamonds hidden in packets of noodles were found inside the trolley bag of an Indian national traveling from Mumbai to Bangkok when Customs officials searched him. He was trying to smuggle diamonds. The officer said the passenger was later arrested. He said that similarly a foreign national traveling from Colombo to Mumbai was stopped at Mumbai airport. He had hidden a total of 321 grams of gold in his underwear.

Similarly, ten Indian nationals were also stopped and a total of 6.199 kg of gold, whose total value was Rs 4.04 crore, was recovered from them, the release said. He had hidden the gold in his rectum and luggage. These people were traveling from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Doha, Riyadh, Muscat, Bangkok and Singapore.
