Committee For Homosexuals Constituted; Have To Report Central And State Governments

New Delhi : The Narendra Modi government of the country has formed a committee to consider the issues of gay people in India. This committee, constituted under the leadership of the Cabinet Secretary, will explore necessary measures to ensure access to services without discrimination on these issues and ensure that such people do not face threats of violence.

It is important to mention that on October 17, 2023, the Supreme Court of India had directed the Central Government to constitute a high-powered committee to look into the issues of the gay community. The Bharatiya Janata Party government of the country led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now formed a committee in compliance with this order.

According to the notification issued by the Central Government on Tuesday, the committee formed under the leadership of the Cabinet Secretary will conduct an in-depth study of the problems related to the people of the homosexual community. The committee will give suggestions to the Central and State Governments so that homosexuals can have access to various goods and services without any discrimination.
