After completing her primary studies, Krystle Kaul went to Washington DC for higher education at the age of 17. He has obtained BA from American University, MA from Brown University and MA from Johns Hopkins University. He has obtained a PhD degree in Political Science from Brown University. Apart from English, Crystal Kaul speaks eight languages including Hindi, Punjabi, Dari, Urdu, Arabic and Kashmiri.

Crystal Kaul considers herself half Kashmiri Pandit and half Sikh. He says he is proud of both cultural backgrounds. Crystal Kaul has said that she is proud to be the first Kashmiri Pandit to run for office and the only Sikh woman currently running for Congress in America.
