UNGA President Dennis Francis Praised India’s Digitalization; Said-Since I Returned, I only Think About India

President of the United Nations General Assembly, Dennis Francis has praised India’s digitalization. He said digitalization is important because it makes economies more efficient. This has given the country a comparative advantage and its lessons can be shared with the global community. This has also helped in financial inclusion and poverty reduction. Francis said, ‘First of all I want to say that ever since I returned from India, whenever I think of India, I remember Incredible India.’

It is noteworthy that on January 22, the consecration of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple located in Ayodhya in India was the biggest celebration for the country. Dignitaries from all over the world participated on this occasion. Francis is also the President of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He was on an official visit to India from 22 to 26 January and during this time he was greatly impressed by the arrangements here. So impressed that he is still seen praising. He praised India’s digitalization program for reducing poverty and bringing millions of people into the formal economic system using just one handset and digitalization model.

Francis said, ‘First of all I want to say that ever since I returned from India, whenever I think of India, I remember Incredible India. I mean it in all seriousness, I felt it when I was there. He said that the specific example I can mention in this regard is the use of digitalization in India. He said India has a clear comparative advantage in this area and there are lessons that can be shared with the international community. During his visit to India he was impressed by the level of investment being made in infrastructure development across the country.
