Giola is a small island located in Naples, Italy, which is spread over about 42 hectares. This island is located in the Bay of Naples, which is made up of two islets. It has been more than 45 years since the island was deserted, but the mystery surrounding it still persists. According to the report, the island, located on the southern border of Posillipo and about 30 meters from the beach, is easy to reach, with one island having a villa while the other is vacant. A small bridge connects these islands, which are separated from each other by only a few meters. This bridge is very narrow and looks like a natural arch connecting two islands. This island surrounded by water on all sides looks very attractive.

Giola is one of the most gorgeous islands in Italy. This cursed island is famous for premature deaths, mental illness, accidents in the families of the owners. In the early 19th century, the island was inhabited by a monk known as the Magician.

Later, Luigi Negri, owner of a large fishing company, bought the island in the late 1800s and built a villa here, which is still there. Soon, he ran out of money and had to sell all his belongings. During the 20th century, the island as well as the villas were bought by many people, but all of them had to go through the worst times of their lives.

In the early 1900s, the island was purchased by Swiss man Hans Braun. Soon after, his body was found wrapped in a rug, while his wife drowned in the sea. The island was then taken over by Otto Grünbach, who, while spending time in his newly purchased villa, suffered a heart attack and died on the spot. The next owner of the island was the famous writer Maurice-Yves Sandoz, who went crazy soon after buying it. Later, he committed suicide inside the mental hospital.

Then, Baron Carl Paul Langheim, a German businessman, bought the island, but his company soon went bankrupt. He had to sell the island to Gianni Agnelli, a famous industrialist and head of automobile manufacturer Fiat. After purchasing the island, he also had to suffer a lot and there were many tragic deaths in his family.

The island was then taken over by an American businessman, Jean Paul Getty, who also had to go through several unfortunate events, including the loss of his eldest son to suicide. His youngest son also died under mysterious circumstances, while his grandson was kidnapped by some dangerous criminals. The island’s last known owner, Gianpasquale Grappone, was jailed, while his wife died in a car accident. After this, in 1978 the government took this island under its control.
