PM Modi Launched UPI Services In Sri Lanka And Mauritius Under Digital Payments System

New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday launched the digital payments system Unified Payment Interface (UPI) services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius through video conferencing. PM Modi said that I am confident that by connecting Sri Lanka and Mauritius with the UPI system, both the countries will also benefit. This will also facilitate the people coming to India from Mauritius.

From the platform of this program, the Prime Minister said, Digital Public Infrastructure has brought about a revolutionary change in India. Even the smallest businessman in our smallest village is making digital payments because it has convenience as well as speed.

‘People coming to India from Mauritius will now get convenience’

PM Modi said, I am confident that by connecting Sri Lanka and Mauritius with the UPI system, both the countries will also benefit. I am happy that after Nepal, Bhutan, Singapore and UAE in Gulf in Asia, RuPay card is now being launched in Africa from Mauritius. This will also facilitate the people coming to India from Mauritius.

Indians going to Mauritius will benefit

This step will facilitate Indian citizens traveling from India to Sri Lanka and Mauritius and passengers coming to India from these two countries to conduct digital transactions. The Ministry of External Affairs said that this initiative will benefit a wide range of people through seamless digital transactions and increase digital connectivity between countries.

India will always stand to help neighboring countries: PM Modi

The Prime Minister further said that in the last 10 years, we have shown that in every time of crisis, India continuously stands with its neighboring friends. Be it natural disaster, health related, economy or cooperation on the international stage. India has been the first country to react and will continue to do so.
