The incident took place on Saturday when a girl was married to a young man from Lala village of Rewari in Nizampur village adjacent to Narnaul in the district. It is being told that the bride’s father himself liked the groom. After this, the groom and his family also saw the girl and if they liked her, they took the matter of marriage forward. It is being told that there was a conversation between the bride and the groom to understand each other.
Now when the time of marriage arrived, the young man and the girl took rounds amidst the chanting of Veda mantras. In front of Agni, they swore to stay together for seven births. Sat down to eat after taking the blessings of the elders. The topic of Rasgulla came up and there was a dispute between the bride and groom in the mandap regarding their liking or disliking. The people present there were still trying to understand the matter when both of them chose their separate paths.
How the case ended
The bride’s side called the police alleging dowry. Seeing the situation, the groom’s family said that now only the Panchayat of 11 villages will take the decision in this matter. This panchayat also took place on Sunday. It was decided that even if the marriage continues by applying pressure, there will be discord between the bride and groom. It would be better if both of them separate here. After this, the Panchayat issued an order to the groom’s side that the groom can get free from the marriage by paying Rs 40 lakh to the bride’s side and Rs 51 thousand to the cowshed. After mutual discussion, the groom gave his consent and paid the amount on Sunday evening.
